Coca-Cola Launches New NFT Collection Titled “Masterpiece”
Introduction
Coca-Cola, in collaboration with Coinbase, the major American cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the launch of a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection called “Masterpiece.” NFTs are tradeable digital collectibles that do not have a physical form but can be linked to a physical object. Each NFT is unique and can be seen as a digital ownership certificate.
The Crypto Collectibles of Coca-Cola, Vermeer, and Van Gogh
The NFT collection is being released in association with Coca-Cola’s “Masterpiece” media campaign. In this collection, Coca-Cola offers eight artworks available for purchase as part of the “On-chain Summer” promotion event. These NFTs feature classic artworks combined with the iconic Coca-Cola bottle. Notably, two of the art pieces are renowned Dutch masterpieces: Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring” and Vincent van Gogh’s “The Bedroom.” Both of these masterpieces are connected to the famous Coca-Cola bottle.
To purchase a Coca-Cola NFT, Ethereum (ETH) is the accepted currency. The NFTs are individually sold at prices ranging from 0.0011 ETH to 0.014 ETH, equivalent to $2 to $25.
NFTs on Coinbase’s New Ethereum Network
The launch of The Coca-Cola Company’s NFT collection coincides with Coinbase’s “On-chain Summer” Festival. This event, lasting several weeks, celebrates the launch of Coinbase’s own Base network. Base is a layer-2 network for Ethereum. Earlier this month, Coinbase’s Base network was officially opened to the public. With this scalable layer-2 solution on Ethereum, transactions are processed outside of the ETH blockchain.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time the globally renowned soft drink brand has launched an NFT collection. Over two years ago, Coca-Cola auctioned NFTs with the aim of raising funds for the Special Olympics. At that time, Coca-Cola’s first NFT “lootbox” was sold as a single asset for over $575,000.
Conclusion
The new NFT collection by Coca-Cola, in collaboration with Coinbase, brings together classic artworks and the iconic Coca-Cola bottle. With prices ranging from $2 to $25 per NFT, these collectibles can be purchased using Ethereum. This release coincides with Coinbase’s “On-chain Summer” Festival, which celebrates the launch of their Base network. Coca-Cola’s venture into the world of NFTs is not new, as they previously organized an NFT auction to support the Special Olympics. With their latest collection, Coca-Cola continues to explore the potential of digital assets and their connection to the physical world.
